He originally joined with the expectation of having the role of vocalist, but I guess he isn't quite able to take his voice up that additional octave like the other four vocalists they've got are able to. Jungkook also did a fair bit of rapping in their early discography, but he stopped doing so ever since the group moved on from their bad boy image completely
