His solo work has never been recognized on a big scale, but CNS has always been recognized by ARMY and Daechwita reached #1 on iTunes. The vocal line's solo work is always talked about in the ARMY community. However, almost no one talks about RM's work, new or old. People know he is great and praise him for holding up BTS, but they fail to realize how hard he's worked and how much effort he puts into making a song. One opinion is that he is not underrated but rather underappreciated, because, while there is no denying that many people respect and admire his work, he isn't as appreciated as he deserves to be. Proof of that statement is that his mixtapes didn't receive the same praise and didn't have the same achievements as the mixtapes of the fellow Rap line members, despite having been praised as well. On top of that, his mixtape isn't as wellknown in the fandom and the general public as the other members' mixtapes. The reason for this could be that his music isn't as "melodic" and "memorable" as the music of Suga (less) and J-hope (primarily), which means that they include vocal parts in their songs, parts able to be sang or rapped more easily by the listener. This doesn't mean that their songs are easy, they are actually extremely hard, especially Agust D's. RM, on the other hand, raps usually for the whole song (as in 'Joke' for instance) or for the majority of a song, making it hard for someone to keep up, since rapping 6 and more syllables per second isn't exactly what you call easy. That, of course, isn't a bad thing at all, it's just the way he writes and chooses to write his music, which might not be as catchy as Suga's and especially J-hope's, but still has such a memorable and unique tone to it.

He's underrated because the hip-hop community doesn't listen to K-pop, its a very insular community. Most will not give him a chance because of where he comes from, and speaking a different language when the largest audience is mostly English speaking. Also, the other rappers in BTS are just average, so that doesn't help either.

@@yoyaikook older mixtapes are simply not well known among the fans. they’ll eventually discover it. a lot of armys don’t even listen to the older albums that are literally promoted unlike mixtapes.. you don’t need to mention other members here if you have nothing positive to say. jjk1 and kth1 aren’t even released yet and it’s 2021. this fandom has grown a lot so obviously a lot of people are eagerly waiting for those mixtapes.
