I don't really watch or listen to K-pop (I've only heard about global K-pop hits). I saw BTS' Blood, Sweat and Tears MV by chance on KZbin. I was hooked by the music, concept and the silver haired man. Their performance is 100 that I decided to check out more and more of their MVs and stages. I used to dance in high school and have high respect for great dancers. I must say, BTS got both the choreo and the dance talent. But still I didn't accept my fate as an ARMY that fast. Until one day...bam! I saw Perfect Man and an appreciation video...and my defenses went crumbling down. I then got my hands on literally all types of BTS content. I became an ARMY. This group got the talent, star factor and marketing tactics to make them globally marketable. I don't like too "groupie" K-pop groups to be honest; I'm Westernized. Bighit did a great job in cultivating BTS such that their individual and group artistry shine. I'm amazed with how BTS blends pop, hiphop, reggae, EDM and even ballad and soulful music. Many BTS songs got cool beats you won't mind playing at a party as a non-K-pop fan. Unlike many other modern groups, they are able to tell their own and their age group's story---and it resonates! BTS music and performances just seem authentic and bleed with the artists' souls. Open-minded people, BTS fan or not, can acknowledge their music. Each member has his own role and charm: - Rapmon is the all-around cool, dorky, reliable leader with varied sorts of genius. His rapping is flawless and topnotch. I think he can go toe-to-toe with internationally popular rappers. He's obviously smart--not just book smart but in music, in leading BTS. BTS is lucky to have him as their leader. He seems to have the talent and maturity to lead his peers to stardom. It always helps to have someone you look up to as a leader. It seems to me that he and Suga are BTS' anchor and compass. More great music to come! - Jin is the beautiful adorkable hyung. I'm not really a fan of "pretty boys" but he is that celebrity that when you see, you'd say "beautiful." He adds to this group's uniqueness with his blend of grandpa, mommy and childish charms. He looks after the members too especially with his cooking. He has beautiful vocals; I hope to hear him sing more. These days, I feel that he's evolved as a moodmaker as well. With his impeccable self-confidence, he's definitely BTS' ace for variety shows! Lol. - Suga is the tough guy from the outside but is actually also sensitive, deep and reliable. He seems to show his affections more through actions instead of words. He caught my attention cause of his "swag" (I don't llike this term but that's really how to put it). Like V, he is what-you-see-is-what-you-get..there's a charm in his bluntness and rough edges. As an artist, he seems so natural and effortless in his rap. His deep passion for music can be felt in BTS albums and his mixtape. Tremendous asset! - J-hope is the loud and silly hyung with a big heart and dope rap and moves. He is passion and energy brought to life. You can feel it in his dancing and rapping. He always gives 100%. You can feel he's one with what he's doing. Hobi and Kookie seem the most versatile as they can do rapping, singing, dancing. I know his mixtape will be catchy and memorable--partnered with dance machine hooks. I can't wait! Cheerful, fun-loving and positive, Hobi and Vmin form the sunshine line that never fails to brighten our day! Sunshine in the flesh! - Jimin is the warm and ki(n)d prince charming. He has this inexplicable charisma onstage that just draws you in. He captivates with his performer talent; the dynamism, emotional singing and dancing, and presence are topnotch. You just feel something when he performs; he stands out! On and off stage, it always amazes me how he morphs from angelic to cute to sexy to cold in a blink of an eye...and how he is both the pseudo maknae and the pseudo mature hyung (as per Namjoon). He's a natural charmer who's easy to warm up to. And there are so many layers to him. I believe he is BTS' glue; he's the emotional backbone and go-to guy. After all, the members say he's the kindest and most caring member. Always supportive and considerate, Jimin is that person all of us probably need in life. - V is the "shameless" charismatic celebrity who embodies fun, youth and "real-ness". He was too pretty for my taste at first (like Jin) but upon seeing their social media videos, he grew on me. V is beautiful. And he seems like the party animal that's also genuine, filial, heart-warming and quirky. Yes, I love V's quirks and antics! V is always a pleasure to watch in anything whether he does well or not--cause he has no inhibitions! He adorably just enjoys and savors every moment. This young man probably has the greatest potential in acting. I've always loved his soulful singing; I hope to hear him sing more ballads in the future. - Kookie is the dude that stands out cause of his boyish charisma. He's one of those rare people who become good or great at anything he focuses on. He has a rebellious side for sure. And his mischievous bullying--his way of expressing affection to hyungs--screams maknae! I feel that at a young age, he has tried to catch up with and excel to not be a burden and instead be someone his hyungs can rely on--a true golden maknae. I guess that is tough Kookie's way of caring for them. He gives me that vibe that he doesn't get close to people easily but is fiercely loyal to his inner circle. Suga and he are like that, I think. I just love all seven members and BigHit! I don't really fangirl or admire celebrities this much. BTS captivated me and is the first K-pop group I stanned. My routine has changed so much! I used to not spend time in SNS anymore but now here I am and I find joy seeing fellow ARMY's virtually. Haha! :) Congratulations, everyone! We've achieved so much! Welcome, new ARMY's! I feel like sharing this to ARMYs :) I saw BTS in kcon Abu Dhabi and they were AMAZING! They were so good live and the energy they brought on stage was on fire. They look exactly the same in person as in the videos, but Jimin was so good looking in person I was fangirling so much. His and Suga's fan service were the Best. I didn't expect that from Suga, but it was Jimin and Suga who interacted the most with the crowd. That lucky person infront who Suga just glared at and stood like a zombie there for like 1 minute is so lucky.

Jimin, my bias! He has this inexplicable charisma onstage that just draws you in. He can be so hot and sexy, or angelic and cute. Quite rare. I love his dance; he dances most precisely--can be fluid or snap poppy--and full of emotion. I like Jimin's control, precision, musicality and grace in dancing. Plus, is he now the best vocalist along with V? He was behind V and at par w/ if not behind Kookie last yr but he's improved so much in the Wings album!!!!! I listened to the full album and he now excels as he's improved his stability and control...smooth and agile even in extremely high pitch and can be sexy and breathy or crystal clear. Do we even need to talk about his personality? He's the glue from behind. The members say he's the kindest and most caring member. Seemingly outgoing and always reaching out and considerate, Jimin is what every group or clique needs. HANDS DOWN, PARK JIMIN! :))
