He was at university studying theatre when a BigHit employee saw him getting off a bus and scouted him right there and then, on the street, simply because of his good looks xD The high school rapper meant to be a civil servant is Namjoon -- people around him always thought that because of his genius IQ, he should get an education/job that revolved around helping society, like a lawyer or politician, or something else to do with government; he also used to sneak out of his house during his high school days just so he could do some underground rapping at night. Yoongi is the underground beat maker who couldn't afford the bus -- he gambled away his education (and his relationship with his parents, for a time) so he could move from home and make music on his own. He would sell his records on the street and often get conned and have his music stolen by bigger names. He was so poor at one point in his life that he had to make due with only 2 dollars a day, which meant he had to choose between getting something to eat and taking the bus back to wherever he lived at the time; very often he chose to starve in order to get home more safely and quickly. The street dancer is Hobi! He was actually a professional dancer for several years before he auditioned for BigHit, street dancing is just the style he specialised in. But he also danced on the streets, though I don't believe it was out of necessity (someone correct me if I'm wrong) -- he simply liked doing it so much he decided to do it outside the studio too. As I've pointed out in the above comment, the contemporary dancer with good math skills is Jimin. He started off with hip-hop dancing like Hobi, but then a dance teacher from the Busan Academy of Arts (the most prestigious dance school in South Korea) saw him and contacted his parents, saying that Jimin was so talented, the school would cover his expenses via a scholarship if he decided to attend. They wanted him as a student really badly there, and they were right to have such high hopes for him -- he ended up being the top student in the entire school, I think, and not just in the art department, but also academically. According to his teachers, he was brilliant in every regard. A farmer's grandson -- that's Tae! He grew up in the outskirts of Daegu (which is also Yoongi's hometown), and was raised by his grandparents because his parents were too busy with work to be able to afford to take care of him. Tae has always said that if he hadn't become an artist, he would have most likely ended up inheriting his grandparents' farm and becoming a farmer himself. And finally, the child too shy to sing for anyone is Kookie. Since he was quite young when he first came to Seoul (13 in international years, 15 in Korean years), he was very inexperienced with relationships and life in general and this caused him to act somewhat anti-socially. Tae noted in one interview that Kookie was initially so shy he would wait for the other six boys to go to bed every night before showering, because he was too embarrassed to undress in front of them. Tae eventually helped him break out of his shell and become more confident, both in terms of making friends and in his singing. Part of the reason why Kookie had no confidence in his voice was also the fact that he originally only wanted to be a dancer, he never intended to sing, and so even with his natural vocal talent he was quite unsure of how to go about becoming a legit vocalist until the others helped him.
